In a speech I give about technology I ask the audience how you know a technology is mature. The answer: it comes in multiple colors and fuzzy material.
Accessory manufacturers have taken over the North Hall at the International Consumer Electronics Show demonstrating that nearly any limitation of today’s electronics gear can be overcome with more accessories.
Among them:
- Waterproof cases for any sized gizmo
- Gyroscopic steady mounts specially made for your particular phone model, or configurable for any manufacturer’s gear
- Doodads to charge your gear inductively (wires are so 2011!)
- Mounts to hold your gear in your open palm, on tripods and monopods, or attached to irregular surfaces like poles or wires
And of course, everything possible in multiple colors and in fur. Or, in this case, USB Thumb drives in the form of Hello Kitty.
